My Disney Journey

This blog was a journey of my application to Walt Disney World's Cultural Representative Program, from sorting out my CV through all the interviews to a year of having a mouse for a boss! Now, watch as I try to get back to my second home.

Small world indeed! March 11, 2011

I’ve just spent the day in Magic Kingdom with Terri and Claire!!! 😀 It was so much fun. We couldn’t decide on any decent places to have lunch that I haven’t yet been to, and that we could afford, so I decided I could do another repeat – as it was such a yummy place – and we went to Pinocchio’s Village Haus. 😀

After that we popped into Castle Couture, and bought us each a princess tiara – spur of the moment fun! Mine is a white one, Claire and Terri got a blue and pink one, so we were matching princesses for the rest of the day! We also got pixie dusted while in there, and each made a wish. Claire hates glitter though, so that was rather amusing.

We didn’t do a huge amount in terms of attractions, but we did watch the parade. We had epic luck during the parade too!!! Mickey blew me a kiss, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee posed for a photo for Claire, Aladdin winked at Terri, Peter Pan said he liked our crowns and that we were pretty princesses, the Fairy Godmother waved her wand over us, and Prince Naveem blew three kisses – one to each of us!!! All in all, a perfect spot to watch the parade from. 😀

After that we met up with Dan and his parents. As it turns out, I know his parents!!! And his dog, Oliver!!! How crazy is that? They own a Harley that I have far too many pictures of, as I’ve seen it at many rallies, and it has a gorgeous paint job, and is unique due to the large trailer on the back that Oliver (who is a large white poodle) rides in! It’s a small world indeed, and very very random too!!!

So anyway, they then split off to do other things again (having watched two showings of the Dream Along with Mickey show), and it was about time for dinner. So Terri, Claire and I went to Main Street Bakery. The sandwiches there are HUGE, but the cakes are to die for. I will certainly be going back there for cake and snacks many a time, that I promise. 😀

By this time it was about 8:30, so time to find a decent spot for Magic, the Memories & You show, and for Wishes. So we stopped in the middle of Main Street and slowly made our way forwards until we found ourselves right at the front of main street, at the point where the cross road goes across… meaning there was a clear gap for about 3 metres in front of us! 😀 A perfect viewing spot, all round. Wishes was, as always, amazing. I’ll never get tired of it, I’m sure.

There were plans, after wishes, to meet back up in Epcot, as it was extra magic hours tonight, and we fancied a few drinks. So we made our way to Epcot, somehow blagged our way in, via backstage (we just need to get something from Cast Services before going home, honest!!!) and joined Dan and his parents at the Rose & Crown. We had a couple of drinks, Claire went home, we had a couple more, and then Dan decided we could do late night Soarin’! Thankfully, I still have my room key, from when Jon visited, in my handbag, and they don’t check the dates on the cards. So we rode Soarin’, and then they said feel free to stay on for another go! Which we, of course, did. 😀

By this time, the park had pretty much closed, so Dan and his parents headed back to the Yacht club. His dad suggested we come back to the Yacht Club to drink in their bar, as it would still be open. Unfortunately, I’m assigning tomorrow, so I couldn’t really stay out any later. So Terri and I came home, and now we’re off to sleep.

And that was my day – all in all, great fun, if very random!!!
